Some Clint Eastwood footage worth seeing

After being asked umpteen times over the last few days if I had watched Clint Eastwood's bizarre speech at the Republican National Convention, I finally pulled it up on YouTube today … only to turn it back off after about two minutes. No further discussion on that little bit of inanity is necessary, but I thought it might be worthwhile to dig up some decidedly nonpartisan Eastwood footage that is worth a few minutes of your time and serves as a reminder that the guy was once one of the most powerful creative forces in film.

What I found was this old behind-the-scenes documentary on the filming of High Plains Drifter. This was Eastwood's first western that he directed as well as starred in, and once you get past the personal-history stuff that opens the video, you'll find some great footage of him putting together some shots. The whole thing's just shy of seven minutes long. Check it out:
